Can the GI Practice Survive Without Consultation Codes? (On-Demand) Item E8202

By: Cecile M. Katzoff, MGA, CGCS, Joel Brill, MD and an MGMA consultant

Recorded on: Dec. 22, 2009

The 2010 Medicare Fee Schedule eliminates inpatient and outpatient consultation codes. During this Webinar, you will analyze and discuss the significant impact these changes could have on your practice’s revenue, evaluation and management coding, and providers’ documentation requirements. Though this coding change is "budget-neutral" for Medicare, it will not be for most practices. You will also learn about the other major 2010 coding changes.

Following this 60-minute Webinar, you will be able to:

  • Discuss why Medicare decided to eliminate the consultation codes and how that will affect the operation of the  gastroenterology practice
  • Explain how to calculate the financial impact on your practice
  • Review other gastroenterology coding changes for 2010

Please note: Continuing education credit is not granted for listening to this CD/on-demand Webinars.

On-Demand - Available for delivery 2 business days after the live Webinar
